As a resident of Sherwood, I am
thrilled that I will be represented
at the Monday night meeting by
eight elected representatives, two
of which are from my ward. As for
the 1992 election, the issue was
issuing bonds. The cost of legal
fees and brokerage costs alone
makes a bond issue of that size
today unfeasible. Truth of the
matter is that it was not that good
a deal in 1992 for anyone but the
bond counsel.

I'm glad that "commonsense" feels thrilled by their respective representation. Truth of the matter is that Three Alderman have a direct conflict of interest in attempting to vote on ANYTHING related to the former Golf Course property because they all own property on or adjacent to the property in question.

If the city tries to take this property by condemnation we'll still have to pay a sizeable amount of money for the property, pay more legal fees, and our city coffers simply don't have it. So, we'll have to issue bonds in order to avoid a sales tax increase.

A bond vote should be held because the people have a right to make a decision as to where our funds will be utilized on an endeavor this large. The city allowed a previous vote, so why not allow this one?

The Alderman ignore the facts that we don't have the money, their actions have landed us in a federal lawsuit, they have denied due process to the owners, and have a vested interest in this issue. If they can't make sound decisions without a lawsuit ensuing, then the people should have the final say. We the people are who they are supposed to represent.

A majority of the citizens of Sherwood want to have a voice in this issue.
